The HS100 Smart Plug allows control of power of a mains socket. This include skills for accessing it by timer with the kasa app available from the Android & Apple app store. And even there is a skill for Alexa to control the Smart Plug on and off state. The Smart Plug needs a 2.4Ghz wifi network to connect to for it to work. And the timer and scheduler only works through the kasa app, not through Alexa. The scheduler supports a 7 day period and more than enough time schedule periods.

The Smart Plug is rated at 13A, so switching a heavy load is right up its street. And is a great Smart Plug for saving power by switching equipment off at night or other times by the scheduler, by app or by Alexa. The Smart Home plug does not need a separate hub for it to operate, it is completely standalone.

The kasa app is a little flakey currently and needs plenty of care to get it right. And the Smart Plug is not compatible with home automation by and on the apple iOS system.

The HS100 Smart Plug has a design fault for I've had two completely fail after 3 months and 1 year respectfully; one fused itself off and the other on. The fused on smart plug was fixed by updating the synchronised time in the kasa app.
