I'd rather not pay a fee for an appointment with a GP, as this discriminates against those with complex medical needs. Those with psychiatric conditions usually have poor physical health as well as mental health issues, so they'll be the worst affected with these changes, if they are to take place in the UK.
Those with mental health issues are more likely to just ignore or completely forget to renew prescriptions because of this proposed implementation, as they are the poorest in our society. This would put a great deal of stress on secondary mental health services and psychiatric hospitals with unnecessary admissions. And I'd personally just stop taking my medication if there was money involved in obtaining such crap substances, if given the choice, and this would just tip the scales!
What would others do if they were charged from £10 to £25 for each time they required to renew a prescription or visit their GP on almost a weekly basis?

Re: Fee for GP appointment in UK?
I do not feel that I would bother to see my gp, even if really unwell. It is hard enough to go when I do not have to worry about money, as it is.
