First Response Plymouth mental health crisis.

It seems that the first response team in Plymouth have inadequate training or recommendations for reading material on emotionally unstable personality disorder (EUPD) for caring for the clients. This was ascertained by asking their service for recommendations on the manuals and reading materials recommendations which were passed to the shift leader on that material for EUPD but no answer was forthcoming.

And by establishing that they are not supporting their clients in an acceptable way and making matters worse in the experience of a carer supporting an individual who has EUPD but it is all Plymouth has to this day for most clients.

Ever since this individual was diagnosed with EUPD the services that have been offered have resulted in the individual becoming worse over time in the direct experience of the carer.

Suicide rates are increasing in Plymouth and 28 people died from suicide in 2021 in the Plymouth area according to the Office of national statistics (ONS), how many of these are attributable to poor mental health care in the Plymouth area? Plymouth mental health patients have doubled in the last year, if services were effective then surely this figure would remain the same or drop but the statistics show otherwise.

There are actually no qualifications required for mental health support workers but a NVQ 2 is preferred which isn't a very high standard considering these individuals are dealing with people's lives!

NHS mental health funding is well under-resourced compared with physical health services, and unstaffed likely under-qualified mental health staff in all areas. How long will this state of affairs remain in our Plymouth City?

The NHS are certainly under-resourced to allow patient and confidentiality breaches when the police turn up when it should be the NHS and an ambulance concerning patient health! Why does this especially happen when it is mental health would we allow it for physical disabilities and health?
