Geniatech Netstream 4Sat SAT IP satellite server/receiver

Post by embleton » Sun Nov 03, 2019 4:12 pm

The Geniatech Netstream 4Sat SAT IP is a 4 tuner DVB-S/S2 Standard (SD) & High Definition (HD) satellite server/receiver that accepts Quad LNB satellite dish inputs and converts these signals to Internet Protocol (IP) traffic that can be viewed on Apple, Andriod and Windows computer equipment. It is compatible with iPhones, iPads, Android, Apple TV, macOS and Windows PCs.

The dish was pointing at 28.2E Astra satellites for the UK for the reception of Freesat HD.

The Netstream 4Sat is designed for unencrypted Freesat (Freeview) transmissions over satellite in the UK/EU but will work in other countries to my knowledge that is compatible with DVB-S/S2 satellite transmission standards. The satellite box is able to be viewed by 4 devices concurrently over Wifi/Wired ethernet on the home local area network (LAN).

The Netstream 4Sat was put through its paces with an Apple 4 UHD TV, iPad Pro, iPhone XS Max, iPhone XR, iPad Mini 2, MacBook Air and Windows PC. The main application that was in use is the EyeTV Netstream app for the Apple ecosystem. But the Netsream 4Sat will work with applications that are compatible with the SAT>IP standard, and we tried a few of these apps on iPhone/iPad and Apple TV UHD to confirm other apps are available to use.

The Apps we found that the Netstream 4Sat box will work with are:-

EyeTV for MacOS & EyeTV Netstream Apps for iOS/iPadOS/tvOS
SAT>IP TV App for iOS/iPadOS/Apple TV
SAT>IP Viewer App for iOS/iPadOS
AirScreen player App (Client V: 1.1.16) for Apple TV (The best app to use currently for tvOS)
Plex Server with Plex Client
Hauppauge MyTV app iOS/iPadOS/tvOS (quicker TV guide than Netstream)
